Mr. Mailman.....

delivered this fun box yesterday!  You may be wondering what I am going to do with 500+ used wine corks, and that is a very good question.  Because why on earth would someone need that many wine corks?  Well, I decided a little while back to start up an online boutique of handmade items for the home, and one of the stars of the show will be the wreath you see below.  With the baby on the way, my wine drinking, and consequently my cork collecting, has been put on hold....so I had to call in the reinforcements or rather I just had to jump on Ebay.  I will tell you more about Amanda Carol Designs in just a few weeks when the store gets up and running.

Book Page Wreath

Remember my girls weekend back in December?  Those three girls are all incredibly creative, and we all read this wonderful blog.  Emily at Jones Design Company is inspiring and gives great tutorials, so the four of us decided to all make her book page wreath.  It was a lot of fun for me to make, even though a few hiccups along the way made it take longer than I would have liked.  I had visions of putting this on our apartment door, but due to these hiccups, my wreath was a little too bouffant for NYC.  Unfortunately, it intruded into our neighbor's space. :)  So I found an alternative place for it, and I think it turned out rather nicely.  Below are a few pictures to document the process and finished product.  If you decide that you want to tackle this lovely wreath, I can send you my suggestions and pitfalls.

Our Kitchen

While this is not the whole house, it is my favorite room in the house.  In Williamsburg, you practically have to build your own kitchen, so as you can see, we (and our parents) have put a lot of love into this room.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!  Oh and you get a sneak peak out our hallway.  It will be a work in progress for a while, but it is shaping up wonderfully.

The fuzziness of the embedded slideshow bothers me, so if it bothers you too, you can follow this link to the actual flickr site.
